Ge Window Germanium Optical Window
Germanium (Ge) single crystal is a chemically inert material with high hardness, good thermal conductivity, insoluble in water, and transmission band of 2-12 μ m. It is a very common infrared optical material. At present, it is widely used in infrared imaging systems and infrared spectrometer systems. Germanium has good mechanical properties and thermal conductivity at 10.6 μ M wavelength range, its absorption is very small, so it is an ideal material for making CO2 laser lens, window, and output coupler. Germanium substrate materials are also used to make various infrared filters.
