BaF2 Optical Window Barium Fluoride Optical Window
Barium fluoride crystal has good transmittance in the wavelength range of 130nm-9500nm, with a transmittance of nearly 90%, and the refractive index changes little in a wide wavelength range. It is usually applied to lenses, beam splitters, prisms, and windows in cryogenic imaging systems, aerospace optical systems, and laser optical systems.

Barium fluoride (BaF2) window has wide bandwidth transmittance and can transmit from far ultraviolet to long-wave infrared. Therefore, this product can be used in various applications, such as infrared spectroscopes. The low refractive index of barium fluoride is 1.48, which can provide high transmittance without antireflection film. In a dry environment, barium fluoride window sheets can withstand ambient temperatures up to 800 °, but prolonged contact with water will reduce the transmittance in the vacuum ultraviolet range. However, compared with the calcium fluoride window, the barium fluoride window has lower resistance to water. BaF2 window is an optical fluoride that can resist high-energy radiation but has lower UV transmission. BaF2 has a Knoop hardness of 82.
